The below was sent to me after I responded to a craigslist ad. The price seemed too good to be true, but  I thought - no harm in asking. The ad was taken down 20 min after I responded. My reply to the email below called him/her out and then I suggested he/she go die in a hole.

I received a check from this "John Beller" after he stated he was going to buy this as a gift for his uncle which in all honesty I could care less why or who he buys it for but it's the shadiness of the transactions especially that the check made out to me is from some company in India. I can copy and scan check to you.

Anyway, I am in no way shape or form depositing this check into my account or making any transactions with this individual(s) except keeping lines of communication open to find out who this really is.

I checked paypal and there was no transaction made by this person Becky. RED FLAGS! I google her phone number and email and there she was craiglist #1 SCAMMER.

First off my thanks to your blog! I had a tempting offer from a craigslist scammer but upon getting their email realized it was a scam- but just to be sure put the contact number into google search and found your blog to help me confirm! In case it's helpful- the scammer presented a house for rent under it's value with no details other than a picture of a house in the area- and an email. I emailed the address and got a response. I didn't know if this was helpful but thought I'd forward my response. The email address was krawczyk_sandra@yahoo.com. Again many thanks to your blog and I reported the scam listing to craigslist.

the boat is in excellent condition. As you can tell it has been stored in the barn. We bought it new in 2006 and added a bunch of things to it including the fish finder with GPS . it is wired for night fishing lights (which are included).. . We have an extra seat for it. The pump to change the oil… just all kinds of things that my husband thought he wanted on it…. We used it some for 2 summers and then his health declined and we are unable to use if now, so it has been parked in the barn.

I will check into the Paypal and get back with you . Is your “agent” someone you know in the area ?

If you want to talk to owner about the boat his number is #####… sometimes he does not answer the phone if he doesn’t recognize the number, so leave a message… wait long enough for him to listen to the message, then call again.

I would have done it myself but we cant bring some of our personal effects along, i am a little incapacitated.....I will appreciate your help here.
