Scammer's applications are usually worth reading for a little chuckle. Like the one below, where the scammer using Alias "Ronald Martin" asks for the personality of the pet and whether the rentor works late at night. What?

Thanks a lot for your blog it is very helpful. I recently received this email from a “landlord” as I was house hunting. Before emailing I had a feeling this was a scam as the rent was not comparable to the other postings in the area but I decide to give it a try just being curious. I googled the number and a link to your blog came up with a similar posting. I hope they catch this guy. I tried emailing them back trying to mess with them but they already had canceled the email account.

I was also contacted by a similar (possibly same) scammer, David M Knight. I responded to a listing that had this exact reply except that it was for a home in fremont. I was suspicious, after his reply due to the fact that he said he was the only family living in the home for all that time, but the photos clearly indicated that an elderly person had resided in the home in which the photos were taken. i drove to the home - it appeared that it may have been vacant, but any access was visibly concealed. I checked the garbage bins and found them to be full - curious! I tried speaking to the next door neighbor, she would not talk with me.

i placed a flag on the listing on Craigslist. hopefully no one found themselves a victim.
