I saw your blogspot after I was googling "craiglist scammer", I wish I would of researched this more in dept as I applied to a job on craigslist. I'm already aware that there are scammers on the website but the job posting looked really real and legit to my knowledge. I know of identiyfing scammers but its been years and they are uping their game. Sadly for honest people like me who are looking for a job, get discouraged to even apply anymore.
Here's my craigslist story. I would like to be posted as anonymous if you would mind for my personal information is already floating around. I applied to a "Scanning Clerk" position listed in my town along with my cover letter and attached resume. I listed my return email as the one i'm writting to you with and my cell phone number at the end of my cover letter. Sadly I sent my resume along which contains my personal information as well. After I applied for this job, the next morning I recieved an email with an interest in me for the job which asked me for my personal information that already has been listed on my resume.
However later on that day I started getting phone calls saying I won a gift card for walmart for taking a survey. I know for a fact I did not fill out any survey. As the next day they called back again. How did I know this was a scam? Because it sounded like a real person but they said the EXACT same script to me the day before! I asked for a supervisor or manager which they didnt do so I told them if you dont let me talk to your manager then stop calling me or else I will file you for harassment with your phone number or ip address. I wish I would of kept both phone numbers but i deleted it out of anger. (209-320-9932) that is one number. the same guy "Will" calls about me winning a walmart gift card and that he needs my information so he can direct me to a link to accept the gift card. Please pass on the new scam they are doing. They are taking your email response and personal information and forwarding it to others that do the same scam. Thank you for your time and let's hope we find a way to stop them soon! ;)
