It never fails to amaze me all the false identities these scammers use. Keep sending in your expenses or adding comments to these posts as they do work in preventing others from being scammed if they google the names/email addresses/text numbers.

Got the beginnings of this scam today. Fortunately I googled it. Can someone please tell me what exactly the scammer is looking to get out of it? I'm a little confused.

I had her or him we really do not know as a scammers from the start I am waiting for the Phony check to com in now. I play with them for a while I know the drill by heart I am to take the rent money & deposit and send the rest to the mover! Other times it is their "Traveling agent" A few times I have told them I have sent the money to their agent boy do they get mad when they figure out I am having fun at their expense. Btw I did a trace of the email and it is Originating-IP: [41.220.69.17] Nigeria
Thanks Tom! I have the same scammers (Sandra from Dorchester) playing the exactly worded game with me right now. I'm thinking that I should start a 'reverse scam' and just take the money too! Hmmmmm;-)
No seriously. If everyone was smart enough to catch on and just take their initial 'play' money maybe they'd eventually give up. Unfortunately there will always be kind, ignorant people who fall for these schemes.
Thanks everybody. I nearly fell for this. The fake payment now apparently consists of a CVS money order--for way more ($200 more) than the monthly rent.
I also called the number in the UK--it works, but a guy answers, and says that "Sandra" is out. Don't be reassured!
