I posted a wedding dress for sale on Craigs List. Then I got this text from phone number 605-644-6059......
Hi this is Tyler Blauw i saw the posting of your wedding dress on craigslist and i will like to know the condition and how much you are offering it last.
She replied by text:
Wedding dress is new & never worn. I am selling the dress and veil for only 275.00.
Tyler replied:
I want to purchase your dress as soon as possible for my daughter before her engagement/ wedding ceremony which is fast approaching... I will be paying you through a bank certified check so that you can have your cash in hand before shipping the dress... I will wait for your bank to confirm and clear the check before we proceed with the shipment. I will need your full name and address to mail the check to you and will be adding extra 50.00 for shipping,, Tyler
I replied:
Where would I be shipping the dress to?
Tyler replied:
To ohio so text me your info to send the check asap.
Then the reader says:
"I then told him to address the envelope to Phil and gave him the address of the leasing office at my trailor park. I told him to make the check payable to my maiden name. Something still didn't feel right, so I googled the name and your site came up. THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU!
"And by the way, area code 605 is South Dakota, NOT Ohio. I will be contacting law enforcement when and if he sends the check. THANKS TO YOU, I WON'T BE CASHING IT:) Please make people aware of the new name and phone number he is using too."

I got the same identical text from same name except a phone number of 740-287-0411. Glad I looked into it first.
The same thing happened to me. It is the 1-740-287-0411 number. His name is Tyler Blauw and he wanted my wedding dress for his daughter asap. He wanted to send me a 2000 dollar check because he was getting a refund from something and could only write one check. Thats what got me. Who would send something they dont know way more then what they are asking for something and just trust that they will send it back. I grew up around check scams so I am very aware of the whole process. I dont know who would go through with it. Also I'm sure he does it for that big of a amount so you have to do it through your bank account and not at a check cash place. Ugh makes me so mad that people think they can scam people like that.
i got scammed by carlos. he was selling an iphone 4s claimed to be factory unlocked. it's locked to att.
his number is 619 8888 3919
email is carlosdiaz4002 at yahoo.com
I just got a text from the same number asking the exact same question but he is now using the name Michael Blauw.
"Michael Blauw" called me from 740-287-0411, said the exact same thing. I was stupid enough to have processed the check but at least I finally checked what my gut was telling me before I took any money out, saw all this info and called my bank immediately.
Can't BELIEVE this guy hasn't been caught. People go to JAIL for freaken pirating music and this guy has been doing this for how long now? Some law enforcement we have in this country..
And it's still going on. I got the same message and check. They still haven't caught him. The only difference is he said his name was Scott Blauw and his daughter was Cynthia Blauw.
I listed my wedding dress on Craig's List in the Seattle area this morning and received the exact scripted text from a man named Scott Nance at 740-287-0411. This seems way too weird to be legitimate I'm glad I googled his number and found your site.
I'm selling a NIkon Camera on craiglist and I received this message from

Craigslist, Paypal, Gmail never seem to do anything about these, and there's a place to report them to the FTC but it doesn't seem to do anything either.
If there's a con, there must be a good reverse con where we end up catching them - wish I knew how to make that happen!
Hey this jroymeas47@aol.com is still at it. I have a craigslist ad and he responded...
Hello, i will like to know if this item is still available for sale and if the condition is as described well,so i can make further arrangement for the purchase and the last price.....Ok
What a scumbag. They can track down kids 'sexting' each other but they can't seem to stop scam artists.
Thanks for doing this site, you saved me some headache! :-)
I got TEXT for my iPhone 5 listing. saying oo I am in Iraq and you need to ship the product I will pay $110 for shipping. I will pay through paypal. I told them buzz off and I will report your number to FBI.
here is the numbers in-case if you get one.

I just received the exact same text message regarding my wedding dress on Craigslist. However, the individual used the name Megan. They said everything word by word as far as the wedding ceremony and sending the certified check. I am glad I decided to googled the phone number to find out where the area code was from. I am not sure what to do from here considering I gave the individual my name and address. Any ideas?
I also got a message from "Megan Pattee" regarding my CL wedding dress - same number, same message. Luckily I Googled because this entire situation seemed sketch.
This person needs to be caught. Ridiculous.
Thanks for posting!
I got messages from the following numbers for things I was selling. 646-543-7312 and 516-360-0559. I think someone should start a "Text Bomb" site where when a CL scammer contacts someone, you put in their number and they immediately recieve 500+ text messages to at least obstruct there fun and irritate them for a short while.
I posted a wedding dress for sale on CL and got the same text messages from Megan Pattee who needed a dress urgently for her daughter's "engagement/wedding ceremony". I have never heard of an "engagement/wedding" ceremony so I googled the number (605) 644-6059, and came up with this site. Thank goodness for google saving us from scams!
Same here.

Said they were in florida with a ny number shipping to someone in south africa... ridiculous.
Just answered an add for some puppies and got a whole bunch of odd responses. First she asked for my number and then sent me txt messages from a yahoo account, didn't even call me! This woman " Anita Melody " told me her mom died and left these two Rotti puppies. She wanted to find them a good home but wanted $250 each..then said they would drive the pups to deliver them to me in GA from Orlando tonight if I gave her $50- for gas!! Then I asked for a phone number to talk and was told her phone was bad! Then she gave me a her "brothers" number 646-657-8195 . I googled the number and found dozens of adds for puppies for sale via adoption! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!
forgot to mention that the yahoo account was not even for an Anita but a " Cindy Ramires" cindyramires78 beware!!!
Looks like I've got a new one for ya all. This guy txt me regarding my Craigslist ad for my High Energy Washer and Dryer. Asked if it was still for sale and I had just posted the ad 10 minutes before. Then said he would pay by Paypal and tried convincing me how safe Paypal is, blah, blah, blah. Said his agent would pick-up. He spoke in very broken English (first clue!) These are people who hate Americans and run these scams simply for that reason. The phone# for this one is 408-728-9921. Fixing this is beyond Craigslist or the phone companies...the government should be doing their job on this. That's what they are there for, to protect us from foreign attacks.
I got the exact same message today and I called the number a 605 number and out wouldn't go through I text the number asking them to call because the information they were giving Me about cashing a 2000 $ check and sending the rest of the money to them just seemed bizarre and they did not call but continued to text the same info so I googled the number and so glad I did of they wanted to try to scam someone they need to be smarter
Got a text from a "Megan Watkins" from 605-644-6059 asking about my wedding dress and condition it was in and what asking price, IT WAS ALL LISTED IN THE AD!
I got the exact same message about the wedding dress I posted and they used the name Megan. I thought it was very weird so I stopped responding because they were so persistent about it. Thanks for posting this!!! This person needs to be caught!!
I received the same texts from two different numbers 605-644-6059 & 724-527-7239. On the 605 text they said their name was Megan Watkins, but the rest of the text is identical saying that the dress is for their daughter's engagement/wedding, they will send a Bank Certified check and wanted my "Full name and address". i suspected something so I googled the phone numbers, Thank Goodness I did not give them my information!!!
Guy using the name "Tyler Dino" also tried to scam me on Craigslist.
Email address is:
t.dino22@gmail.com
Phone number he texts from is:
205-208-5099
He now texts constantly. What a joke.
It happened again... the 6056446059 text me about a wedding dress... went thru with everything up util i got the check yesterday... then "she" decides to hound me about getting it in the bank and getting things done... said it would be over night then the money should come out... today "she" text me and told me the information to send the dress and the rest of the money goes to the "wedding planner".... well then "she" says that "she" knows it cleared because it come out of her bank. ... then I told her that the police had all that info that "she" give me along with the check... then i get a message saying that "she" can be who ever because they can make fake ids.... i know for a fact that its a guy because when "she" told me where to send the rest of the money to i needed to make sure it went western union to a ralph.... so its gotta be a guy unless he is a she and can go either way... not trying to be funny just saying thats what im thinking.... so thank yall all for writing these out or i would prob be in big time trouble!!!!!!!!!

Hi it’s a year later and neither craigslist nor goolge has done a thing! I’m selling on graigslist NY/NJ and got an email from “Beth Dino” at google email t.dino@gmail.com.
Same thing basically asked for swift purchase and use of PayPal. The scam is they ask for quick resolution and say they need a third party to pick it up.
According to PayPal fraud dept. they say they have put extra money in your paypal account (usually $500 ) for the shipper and ask you to forward money or balance to them.
Well I must be really popular I got two scam variants on the motorcycle we are trying to sell. First one is really weird... a text message from a girl who says her boyfriend wants one like it and a link to img-send.com. Funny thing is I attached three good photos to the ad. I also created two ads for the bike (two different cities close to us) and accidentally used my number instead of hubbys, guess what got almost the same message except it was the girls husband! Then I got the messages like the one in this blog post. Shaking my head... do people still fall for this stuff?
This JERK's name is Daniel C. Guthrie, might still live in Coulee City, WA. Also uses email lnrdchurch@gmail.com as well as several other aliases. Self proclaimed hacker/genius, is a con artist to the core. DO NOT TRUST OR DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN OR HIS FAMILY.
Guy using the name "Tyler Dino" also tried to scam me on Craigslist.
Email address is:

Good idea
I got three text messages from listings on craigslist, same bad grammer wording, I knew it was a scam. The number was 903 634 7092, from Janie Walker. then it gave me instructions. So I replied, No Thanks, I am not the idiot you are looking for, bye! Then I blocked the number.
what else can I do?
I had the same thing happen to me from the 605-644-6059.For my wedding dress, they never told me their name but the text was verbatim as far as everything else goes, I too was curious as to where the number belonged to as I am from Columbia MO and this is a south dakota number, Thank you to everyone who posted about these people, Funny thing is, I don't have a bank account
I posted an ad on craigslist for a wedding dress and got a text from 814-580-8449 telling me she was getting the dress as a surprise for her daughter. She wanted to mail me a check, and told me the wedding planner would pick up the dress. There was no information on this number when I googled it, so I figured I'd post it!!!!
I have received scam attempts from 3 different people. I wanted to post their numbers online so nobody gets scammed:
617-315-8763 - I got a text "Hello, hope you are doing great today? kindly get back to me with details if this [Exact Listing Title] is available. Tom." (Exact listing title used in text and bad grammar...1ST SCAM SIGN)
He said he is unavailable at the moment (physically) due to volume of jobs he's handling (the fact that he can't meet in person...2ND SCAM SIGN) Therefore he will instruct his secretary to mail out payment to me via USPS. He needs my address to mail the check and a mover is going to come pick up my items.
I didn't let him go any further and called him a scammer and told him I am reporting him as I have looked into this and he is trying to mail me a fraudulent check and "accidentally" mail me a check over what he owes and ask me to wire the rest and keep some for my troubles. By the time the bank finds out, the money is long gone!!!
Here are the other scammers numbers:
865-219-3174 ejohn150@yahoo.com Wants to scam via PayPal
903-458-9005 Williams Richard trying to send a certified check issued from bank and willl have a shipping co pick up my items
Classic scam message
(1/3)Am currently at church convention due to this i will not be able to come and pick up the item myself, I will be paying you via (Certifield Check/Money (2/3)Order). And after Check has been cleared with the bank i will ask my Movers to come for the item pick up, I will add extra $50 for keeping this item in my (3/3)favour. Please i will like you to reply back with your full names & mailing address to mail Check to. Steve Moore.
Scammer number 562-653-6827
I just listed my wedding dress on craigslist....now that I found this website, I am not looking forward to getting responses from all the scam artists out there. I have a few questions:
What do these people get out of texting people and having them text back even once, a simple yes or no answer? With the email, I can see how now they have your actual email address when you respond, but with texts, they already know your phone number to be able to send the text in the first place. What else do they get out of it? Should I be worried about responding "yes" to a text about availability and thats all...I know not to say anything further now.
How do they scam you with checks and how do they scam you with paypal? Please someone explain this to me...i'm so clueless. I thought paypal was secure, but apparently not.
So with all this scamming going on, is there a legit way for people to actually sell high ticket items through craigslist? If so, what is the best way to go about it in terms of payment 'n such? Thank you for any and all responses!
