Scammers Try to Buy Wedding Dress!

Here's a new twist -- the scammers are buying wedding dresses using their scam technique. No class! They'll try anything apparently!:

I'm very glad I came across your website today! Thank you so much for informing folks about these scammers.

I posted several items on craigslist for sale recently, including a wedding gown.
I got the most interesting buyer I would ever expect to purchase this item. A man wanted to buy the wedding gown for his friend before his friends wedding took place. And I'm thinking: "Now, why would a man want to buy a wedding gown for his freind? Any woman that I know would want to at least see the gown (I didn't have any photo's of it posted yet), most importantly, she would want to try it on if she is going to wear it for such an important day in her life!"

Lastly, this man was using very similar wording and proposed a very similar method of payment as described in your site.

Car Sellers Now Should Beware of Craigslist Scammers

So the scammers are now moving to car purchases. Here's an email exchange from a saved-victim in Vancouver:

Would really love to come for the viewing but due to my work frame that might not be possible, please do get back to me with your full name and address including your cell and land number so i can make out payment.

Remember, it doesn't matter what you're selling -- the scammer sends you a check for an amount over the agreed upon price and then asks the seller to send money back. They money you send back is your money, not theirs.
